SPAIN


Day 1 Saturday

RONDA - WINE TASTING AND TAPAS - PRIVATE VISIT AT A RENOWNED STUD FARM FOR CATTLE AND EQUESTRIAN EXHIBITION

The guide: 

Arrival at Malaga airport and transfer to Ronda (appx 2 hours) to arrive at La Colegiata de Ronda, a charming boutique hotel located in the city centre. Freshen up and transfer to Reserva Tauro for wine tasting, tapas and a private viewing of the breeding station where you will learn about the importance of breeding Spanish horses and bulls steeped in tradition.

Day 2 Sunday

RONDA-BENALDALID-ALPANDEIRE 

The guide: 

After breakfast meet the horses for this first stage and ride to Benadalid for lunch, passing through the ports of Arrebatacapas and Encinas Borrachas; and stop in Alpandeire for the night at a boutique hotel Casa Grande which is rented out exclusively. The route will take you through dramatic landscapes and far from the beaten path for a close to 30 km trail.

Day 3 Monday 

ALGACIN - GAUCIN 

The guide: 

Travel through majestic landscapes to reach Algacin after which a stop under a shady tree with a traditional meal and local wine, cheeses and ham from the region keeps you going. Continue to Gaucin for a quick stop at a traditional “venta” for a cold drink and on to Hacienda La Herriza hotel.

Day 4 Tuesday

GAUCIN - SAN PABLO BUCEITE - JIMENA DA LA FRONTERA 

The guide: 

The third phase completes a long stretch of new terrain where the Moroccan costal ambience can be felt in the architecture. In this phase Gibraltar and Africa can be seen in the distance. The ride takes you through pine forests and through San Pablo de Buceite, where you stop at a traditional “venta” which dates back to the “bandoleros. Continue through Los Angeles and finally Jimena de la Frontera. The location of the town, sheltered by hills but close to the Strait of Gibraltar, meant that its strategic functionality was exploited by the different people that have populated it. The night will be spent at Rancho Los Lobos, which has a wonderful bohemian vibe. Dinner and drinks will be hosted with a flamenco party in great form.

Day 5 Wednesday 

JIMENA - SAN MARTIN DEL TESORILLO 

The guide: 

From JImena the old railway tracks will give way to some good canters through agricultural land and cattle. Stop at shady spots with views onto the straits of Gibraltar for snacks and lunch while you and your horses rest for a while. Continue to San Martin del Tesorillo, a stone's throw from Sotogrande, known for the yacht industry, jet set life and polo. Arrive at Finca Monasterio, an old Monastery fully converted to an extravagant Andalusian style finca with gardens and amenities. Relax and enjoy the surroundings before you leave by boat for Morocco the next morning.

MOROCCO

Day 6 Thursday

TANGIER - KASBAH - CAMEL RIDE - CAP SPARTEL - ASILAH

Transfer (1hr) to the ferry to Morocco and arrive by boat at Tangiers Port, a city in northwestern Morocco on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. 

The crossing will take between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the weather. It is a 15 km trip across the strait of Gibraltar. 

Your guide will meet you for a privately guided tour of the Medina (Kasbah) on arrival. Lunch will be served at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. After lunch you continue the way to Cap Spartel where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet. 

As the sun gets milder, you will have a sunset camel ride along the beach for an hour. Then you return to the medina in Asilah where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7 Friday

MEDINA - BEACH RIDE - REHOUNA

Breakfast at the Riadh and a short visit to the renowned medina in Asilah.

After lunch as the sun gets milder, you will set off for a horse ride on the beach and experience the temperament and speed of the Moroccan horses.

You spend the night in Rehouna at Casa Hermes, founded by Patrick Guerrand-Hermès, born from his love for horses and privileged relationship with Morocco.

Day 8 Saturday

POLO

Departure by Helicopter from Ceuta to bring you to a renowned Polo Club that offers three polo grounds facing the Sidi Mghayt beach in Massalah. The club currently has 64 polo horses and offers a full array of activities: stick and ball, practice, horse rides and tournaments managed by a team of Argentinian players who live there.

After breakfast in the club, you can experience a two-hour polo lesson/game.  

After polo, your driver will take you to Ceuta for your Helicopter flight to Malaga airport for your flight back home.
